Beebots in the library
Thanks to the Clay Center in Charleston, WV and a West Virginia STEAM Power Grant, Woodsdale was able to purchase 6 BeeBot robots. These little robots are designed for young children. They are bee shaped and programmed by pushing a series of buttons on the top. Our kindergarten students really enjoyed using them. During storytime we read books about communities and the kinds of businesses and people you find in most communities. Then students designed and created their own 3D buildings that we arranged on a gridded mat to create our own little town. It was just the right size for the BeeBot travel through. The students took turns guiding the robot to different buildings on the mat and we talked about the adventures he was having on the way. PreK students also got a chance to program the robot to travel through the little kindergarten town. We also want to thank the parents who came to see the town during the school art show. The kindergartners really enjoyed showing off their work.
